I am helping out a photographer friend of mine to improve his website's onpage seo. He's had his site a couple of years now, and there's a lot of work to do. One of the first things I did was change the title tag from "hisname"photography to adding his phone number at the end of that. I also reworded his description meta to better reflect his service/niche/area. My question now is, how long will it take for Google to show these new changes? When I Google photographers in "city", his site comes up, but it still has the "old" title/description. Will it take a few weeks? Thanks |

Yeah it usually takes a little while for the changes to appear, also depends on how often his site is spidered but shouldn't take long.

Looks like the old page is in the cache and spider has not visited the site yet to reflect the changes. In order to get the new page indexd. One thing you can do is to ping your site and let the spiders know that content has been changed on your site but eventaully spider would visit and index the page and the frequecy of the spider visiting a site depends how often the new content is added on the site.

Normally it takes from 10 days to 2 weeks with my sites to get the changes noticed by Google so many people will not agree to the time mentioned. But you can speed up the process by submitting to a number of sites and by increasing the quality of your site's architecture. Once this is done the new page with the updated content will start showing in the results page. |
