So I found something weird today when checking my current Google rankings. I had a subpage ranking for a certain keyword, ex. mydomain.com/keyword, at the #7 position. This was a few days ago. Now I check today, and I dropped a few spots to #10 (that's not the weird part) but only to find that my main homepage is now ranking instead of that subpage. The subpage is actually on page 4 currently. The weirdest part, I don't even have that keyword on the home page. Honestly, I'd rather have the traffic to the homepage so I'm actually happy. Is Google getting smarter or am I missing something here? |
