My website moved from page 12 to page 23

Hey everyone, about a week ago, my website was on page 12 for a certain keyword, "sat test".

I've redone the keywords for my site hoping to improve my SEO so I could move up in SERPs, however this seems to have backfired on me, as I am now on page 23, and have been moving back (I was #1 page 23, then #2, now #4).

Can anyone give me some advice or tips? I realize that this keyword is VERY competitive, but this is my first site, so I kind of made a newbie mistake.

Edit: I'd also like to add that the domain is only ~26 days old.

what were your previous keywords? did you change all of them?

Google is going to reshuffle you for a second. I would inhale deeply and wait to see where you wind up stabilizing before you make any rash decisions.

It seems like I've already stabilized - My site has been bouncing around results #1 - 5 on page 23 for a week already.

Reasons:

Your site is still new

Your site do not have sufficient back links

Remedy

Do massive and quality back link using all the possible link building methods.

Actually Google is changing the search results rapidly and only a few people know what's going on and how to fight with it. By the way it never happened to me because I have a very different approach to SEO, that's why it works every time and my sites just moves up in search engines and don't go down.

I wouldn't panic. I've had this happen to a number of sites. It seems as though they keep pushing back, but eventually will come back possibly to an even better position. But make sure to continue to consistently build quality links.

And you're right, it's definitely a competitive phrase you're optimizing for, so you'll have to get quite a few links from a diverse number of quality sites. Make sure to evaluate the top 10 ranking pages - both on-page and off-page factors to see exactly what it will take to get to the first page.

Just a little shuffle. Pay more attention to building quality backlinks and you will see your site improve in rankings.

Would you mind sharing a few of your tips to help some Warriors out? Or does everyone have to buy your product in your sig to know the ULTIMATE secret? A few tips can go a long way!

Anyway,

danaz, I think your site is great and it provides some great value. Like everyone said, Your site is still new so you will see some jumping around for a while. In the meantime, keep adding content to your site, add more backlinks, and you will be just fine.

I also recommend writing a few articles with ezinearticles or articlebase. So if your site dances again, you will still have some traffic coming in.

If you have done any changes during this period then make sure if that is the reason for it or not. Then continue to build legit links to your site that would help to improve the
rankings rather than harm them. Or it could be a fact that your competitors are doing better than you.

Google will keep on reschedule the search result, if your site is important, sooner or later it will rank well.

For new site, Google will place their site to better position, this is so call honey moon time, during this period Google will evaluate a site performance. Once it pass the period, it will back to normal ranking.

For competitor site, if all your competitor doing SEO better than your site, they stand a better chance to kick your site out from top SERP.

My advise, be consistent to increase number of backlinks, keep create good content, you will stand a better SERP.
