First real post. I've been building a decent amount of niche sites with all unique content. My question is how often are you changing themes? I have 5 sites and another 20 in the works. I am really comfortable with one particular format using multiple color layouts of said theme because it is built for easy adsense code integration. Do you use a set number or is each site a different theme? I suck at the setup and coding of things but if this is wrong I will work at constantly changing them. It just takes a lot of time learning how each one works and adjusting for it. Thanks. |

When i first started my site, I changed themes almost everyday just playing around with them and testing which one would be good. After I choose a suitable theme, I normally don't change it unless I find something that it much better for my objectives with the site. It is a hassle to redo all of the formatting and coding to get it the way you want.

I tend to choose themes based on the content of the site I'm creating. If I can find a theme that fits well with the content then I'll go with that. However, there are a few themes that I use a lot because I'm familiar with them and I know that they work well for SEO etc. It's really just a case of personal preference. |

True. I guess my question was more directed at having multiple domains with Adsense on them. How often do you change the themes from site to site? I don't want to be penalized from Google for using the same layout but at the same time there is always going to be a learning curve for new themes and the coding. |

So if I liked one particular theme that is ok? I mean I would be changing the layout colors each time through to suit different topics, ect ect. I like prosense for it's ease of use when putting the code in and could probably do a 100 different color schemes. I just hope they don't penalize me for that especially if I have awesome unique content. |

I don't think you will get penalized for using the same theme for a long time. Changing a theme would more or less depend on your personal preference really.

I change my themes once every 6 months. This gives a new look to my site and then it still remains authority that the site admin can't make up his mind about how his site should look like. I don't know about you but if I were a user, I would think the same thing.
