Hi all - I use SEO Spyglass (and love it!) -- it's accurate enough but often off a couple of spots which, as we know, can make all the difference. Other than clearing my cache/deleting my cookies, is there a way to manually check my actual ranking for my main keywords without google factoring in my tendency to visit my own site? Just want to confirm what any old person searching on google would find. Thanks! |

Hey there, There are a few different tools you can use to check your rankings, I personally use: - semrush.com or; - Rank Tracker within Market Samurai They both work great, semrush only works on keywords that have over 10k monthly searches (not the exact figure, but close to) so if your keywords are lower then Rank Tracker is your best bet. Thanks for the tool suggestions, guys. Without clearing my cache, is there a way for me to actually use Google to see all of the sites searchers are seeing when they google my keyword phrase (view my competition accurately ranked)? Basically a way to turn off the personalization of the search results? THANKS! |

Either use a different browser just for searching, or search on scroogle.

Oooh, thank you all, I hope scroogle is accurate because it's showing me what I'd really like to see. |

Yukon, thanks, that's the kind of thing I was looking for. I actuallly came back to this thread to say I'd found a solution with the InPrivate browsing option for IE as well (go to tools - InPrivate Browsing). Appreciate everyone's input.

You can use Rank Tracker module of Serp Attacks ( Free Version) and set your search as per your country or Google.com to get very very accurate results

Agency-level SEO's (like me ) know that you can't always rely on tools or plugins, as you may not always be on your own computer etc., (like in a client's office checking ranking for their "pet" keyphrases, for example). So, do like us pros do - append the end of your search query URL (after you perform the search) with &pws=0 which removes personalization. Even Vanessa Fox uses this technique - and if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for, well, anyone! ![]() Hope that helps! David |

The thing is that all automated seo tools run repeated queries resulting in temporary search engine blocks. But that is not the reason to stop using the tools - all you need to do is adjust search safety settings inside SEO SpyGlass, Or rank tracker : enable proxy rotation, import and use a paid proxy if you have one, turn on user agent switching and reduce number of simultaneous queries through Misc. Global Settings. | |
