i am also confused. Google is becoming smarter day by day. Do not build too many backlinks at start.

Google is changing everything rapidly now a days and you need to understand whats going on. Have proper onpage SEO 1st with quality contents & don't build backlinks too fast otherwise you are on a risk.

I use clickbump seo to ensure the onpage optimization is okay. and after google cache I start building backlinks. Dont know why but google sandboxed my 3 sites already.

Two things: First, what do you mean by sandboxed? How do you know your sites are being sandboxed if they're brand new and you have no previous rankings to measure against? Second, I don't know if San Angelo LIVE! Covers Events and News in San Angelo, Texas is your site or not but, just looking at the source of the index page raises a few red flags. First, fix your canonical tag and make it point to the root of the site (San Angelo LIVE! Covers Events and News in San Angelo, Texas) instead of where it's pointing now (San Angelo LIVE! Covers Events and News in San Angelo, Texas). Also, move all that jquery stuff off the page and have it simply be referenced. It'll improve page load time. |

It may just be a Google dance if it only lasts a few days or weeks.

Try varying your anchor text a little bit.

Wow there is a lot of silly responses in this thread. Your NOT doing anything wrong. Continue doing what you are doing. Here are a few things to keep in mind. There is NO sandbox. It does not exist. You are not in it. You are NOT in trouble with Google. Your site is new, the algo is seeing the links you are building and it is reacting. When you build links your site bounces around. This is called the Google Dance. It is normal. To stabilize the dance, try doing some paid press releases. This will get you a link from a trusted source, and the algo will react accordingly. Continue with your link building. You can never have too many links. |

Make sure, whatever you do, do it consistently untill your domain is aged.

Exactly - relax, you are doing the right thing. I would definitely try varying the anchor text a bit more (add in some "Click here" "Check this out" "sitename.com" etc.). Otherwise, you're doing well. As your site ages, it will dance up and down, but not as much as when it first starts out.

I dont find my site within first 50 pages for the keyword I was targeting. In fact my site was on 19th page. And it was on there for almost 2 months. But after starting the off-page optimization it is lost........... Cant find within first 50 pages last 1 month. till now I built almost 100 social networking and 100 social bookmarking backlinks. but nohhh its not coming back to even 19th page..... Before starting off-page optimization campaign my Clickbump SEO score was 100. So I thought it is the high time to start building backlinks.... Dont know whats the wrong!! why uncle google punished my site....??!! |

Keep building backlinks consistantly for 2 months. After 2 months your site will be stable. And google will decide which position is the best position for your website.

Hi rafiseo, There is no Sandbox and it is a waste of time to think of what is happening that way. Your temporary boost from the Freshness Factor wore off and you now rank where you deserve to rank. @BloggingPro, I agree with the first half of your post, but disagree with your labeling of this as "The Google Dance", that just not accurate. The "Google Dance" is a term that was originally coined to describe the shift in SERP rankings after a major algorithm update. Over time Google realized that major updates tended to be a little too disruptive and they switched to a more incremental upgrade process. Now, anytime Google does a minor update, tests a new algorithm tweak, or does a data refresh, ranking fluctuations are called the "Google Dance". The bottom line is that the term implies that Google has changed something on their side that has caused a shift in SERP rankings. In this case the OP's shift in rankings has nothing to do with changes from Google's system, but is a standard feature of their algorithm. It is called the "Freshness Factor", or internally at Google as QDF (Query Deserves Freshness). |

Smells to me like there are other things coming to play. I've never seen any natural link building have this type of affect. I've built hundreds of links through natural means, nothing to manipulate rankings etc. I've never seen any penalties assigned and have never seen this. As dburk says, it seems more like the freshness factor is impacting your site, not so much this "perceived" sandbox effect and without knowing the niche you're in, it's a little hard to make some informed comments about this. |

I am not sure if being outside US, Canada or UK makes it more challenging for indexing. I would assure that the site has some videos and images and to also vary the template for each site. Also some backlinks from article sites and press release sites can be helpful. Debbie |

So set up a target and dont build backlinks in the first one or two month and focus on posting fresh content in these time and then gradually start your backlinking campaign. Also target multiple keywords rather than focusing on a single keyword.

Try building backlinks that look natural and relevant, build backlinks at a natural pace. If you build 300 backlinks in 2 days then Google will surely see through it and punish you. Build an average of 50 backlinks and see the results. Then if the results are favorable then go on from there. But keep in mind that you don't want to overdo it.
