Do you just need it for a one-off job. Or do you want something you can use continually?

No more than 50,000 URLs and must be no larger than 50MB when uncompressed. Creating Sitemaps - Webmaster Tools Help You need to create multiple sitemaps. You can do it manually for free: sitemaps.org - Protocol Almost all free online sitemap generators have page limits. Here's one with a 3900 page limit: http://web-site-map.com/xml-sitemaps.php Here's a good one but the free version is limited to 500 pages: Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps Generator They have a paid version for only $19.99 that can do multiple sitemaps and a sitemap index. |

Well, the free xml sitemap generators allow a maximum of 500 pages and if you have such a large site like you mentioned then you should Google the answer. I have never really worked on so large sites and therefore never had any real problems with sitemaps. If you get the answer, would love it if you would share it with all of us.

Would be somewhat expensive to run a free online service (i.e. external) for such large sitemaps I think |

try google sitemap xml plug in or since your site is too large, break them into groups. this is also suggested by google if you have lots of links. try creating: www,yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml = # of links www,yourdomain.com/sitemap2.xml = # of links etc.. but if you use a plug in, it is more convenient since you just need to press a button and "holla". sitemap is done and you can send it to google webmaster. hope it helps. |
