Hey Guys. What ratio do you backlink your base URL compared to secondary pages? What about if your home page (say dog food) is already ranking in first position on page 1, but you secondary page say (whispas dog food) isn't is there any point in backlinking the home page (seeing as a link to the secondary would be much more powerful in this case?) Thanks, Sam |

The more you make it look natural, the better your going to rank in the Search Engines. A site ranking completely white hat isn't going to have 1000 backlinks to the homepage and 0 backlinks to inner pages. It's going to have 1000 backlinks to the homepage, and 300-400 to inner pages combined. You'd be surprised how fast you can rank for by backlinking your secondary keywords/pages also. Thanks for the tip. A natural site would probably have more pointing to the home page, so I'll do some experimenting...! Sam |
