|  How Important Is PageRank With No Optimized Sites
Hi Warriors,.. I'm doing some keyword research using Market Samurai... The niche I'm researching has a ton of keywords in which the top 10 sites on Google have a collective high page rank (PR 5-6) but they are not optimized for the specific keyword I'm researching. No keyword in Heading, Title, URL, or Description. A couple of them do have sites that ARE optimized for the keyword with a PR of 0-1 and with 100 or so backlinks and they're already ranked between positions 8-10. My questions is...if sites are not optimized for your keyword, but have a high pagerank, does the pagerank play a huge role in the SEO optimization? Do I have the potential to rank high with the keyword? Or is it an uphill battle? Thanks! |

The pagerank means nothing if they got tht PR from links whose anchor text is not targeting your keywords. Your last step is to run a backlink check on the top five and confirm that they have few links targeting that anchor text. Then provided the term gets searches you would have the green light to go forth and conquer. | |

Well I would have to see itself to be able to comment on that one, usually it is the other way around the site which is optimized for some keywords and ranks well in Google will definitely have some PR otherwise why would G think it fit to place it prominently in the rankings? Point to ponder... |
