I'd suggest scouring these threads. There is a tremendous amount of free education right here. The War Room also has some great material offered by generous people. "I know my competitiors and need to know what meta tags and description I need to beat them" There are more important "on page" SEO items you need to learn about first, before meta tags-description. READ, READ, then READ some more!! |

I agree with previous poster. There are so many beginner threads rehashed here, go for them. However, to start off when it comes to software - SEO Powersuite, Market Samurai, SEnuke, Article Marketing Robot, Xrumer, Scrapebox and a Dedicated Server and you should be well on your way. | |

You may try Market Samurai and SEO Power Suite. That will give you a headstart in your SEO campaign. Goodluck!

My most important advise to newbies starting out on SEO, is to always allow things flow naturally or simply. SEO in my opinion is not trying to fool google to rank you higer by doing or spending lots of money building backlinks or keyword stuffing. If you can focus on building quality contents and also try following lots of blog and forums that are in same niche as yours, you should start ranking very high. The key is to allow the process naturally. Summarily: Follow very HIGH PR Blogs and Forumswith same niche and endeavor to always participate in all in form of commenting and also article suggestions. |

Thanks for the help guys and I will certainly give the software one of you recommended a go. Is there a musthave set of software?.I am getting there, what I feel I need to do is find out the best keywords for my trade, ones that are popular but not majorly competitive, I also should be mirroring the keywords what my competitors are using? What is the best software for this?, as I feel this would be my first step, market samurai? Then I need to incorpirate those keywords into my content and urls as much as possible. If any body could please help and maybe shed some light on a program to assist with the meta description too that would be great. Once this is done, I can then start getting backlinks, can anybody recommend a service for this?. Sorry for my ignorance, I have read the SEO guide on this site and it is informative I just feel I still need some info. Thank you |

| seo power suite is a great set of tools to get started, also make sure to set up a google analytics account and connect seo powersuite's rank tracker and seo spy glass with google analytics to check how many site visits keywords and backlinks bring. re anchor text, you can use seo spy glass to see what anchor text is used by your direct online competitors, also keyword research and rank checks will help you find out what keywords work best for your anchor text. and as mentioned before: read read and read. seo is about lifelong learning )) |

Yep, you can use either SEO Powersuite or Web CEO. They are similar tools. However, I prefer SEO Powersuite, maybe just used to it... Also, I wouldn't worry much about meta data, just look at what titles and descriptions your competition is using, use your keywords in those, that's it. |
