Will adding flash affect serps?

If I wanted to add flash to my homepage would it affect my position in the serps at all? I am currently 1 for all my keywords just wanted a little nicer site!

as far as i know, search engines can't read flash and may affect your page rank.

Depends on where you want to add it. Having it as a navigation it is a very bad idea, however a small guiding flash banner for users can actually even do you good. Google Panda update is more or less about user experience, if you are improving it, you won't be dropping anywhere.
