I want to learn on-page seo. Any suggestion??

hi warrior,
After 1 year of doing off page seo, and taking 7 websites to the top 3 with a number of keywords. Now i want to learn on-page seo.
I have learned Off-page seo from the this forum and now i want experienced SEOs to guide me that where to start,
like if want to learn on-page should i also learn some languages like java script, if yes then which language.
and if any body suggest me a book for onpage seo. I would be thankful to him or her.

On page SEO is the most important in any SEO campaign. 1st of all analyze the site either any links are broken on the webpages especially on the index page then follow the following steps.

1- Meta tags optimization (meta titles,meta keywords,meta description).
2- Google analytic code inclusion and verification from Google using Google webmaster's tool.
3- Sitemap.xml Generation and Submission in Google webmaster's tool.
4- roobt.txt Generation and Submission in Google webmaster's tool.
5- URL rewriting to make the url seo friendly if the Domain is hosted on Linux or Apache servers.
6- make the unique and it should not be duplicate or copied from any other web resource.
7- Keyword density in your content it should be around 3 to 4% of the total content.
8- W3C validation
9- alt text on all the web images.
10- Privacy policy of the site.
11- Social Media links on the index page like facebook page and twitter etc...

A few more things are left which you learn with the passage of time.

I was going to say what mathew12 has already said, I would pay real close attention to these points and learn them by heart before I try anything. Although the Do It Yourself
approach is good always ask someone before you experiment.

Here is how this query working,
first part of site operator is giving indication that you need specific results from this segment only...and second part is keyword itself which tells google that which specific topic you are looking for.

I know my friend lots of people here argue on this method cause this can be done through wf forum advance search option as well, but i found more relavant results when i do it with google..just my opinion.

Mathew have shared some great tips above... just follow them first... since it will be your learning phase there will be a lot of questions in your mind while learning... you can post them in the same thread here.
