So.....I started a pretty simple niche site. I plan to use adsense link 728x15 on all pages and an image banner in the posts. Below the image banner in the posts I usually have an outbound link to a website referred to in the post. Anyone think this will give Google any problems in terms of Adsense TOS??

Hey guys, just looking for some honest advice. I'm fairly new to Warrior Forum (as a member, been reading it for a long time) is this kind of question wrong to ask? Did I ask it in the wrong place? Am I missing something here?

It's not in the wrong place, but I don't think anyone understands exactly what you're asking. I certainly don't. A link or picture would help. |

Well the site isn't live because still in progress, but I'm wondering if anyone has had real experience whether Google cares if an image banner ad is placed just above a link that I place in the post to another page. For example, many of my posts will be information snippets about medical support organization websites which I link to at the end of each post. like this: Post title Post content (giving a sysnopsis of a medical organization) link to medical organization at the end of the post So what I have been setting up is that format with an ad placed in like so: Post title Post content (giving a sysnopsis of a medical organization) ------>adsense image banner just above the link<-------- link to medical organization at the end of the post My question is by placing the banner just above a link that i use to refer to another website will Google have a problem in the sense that I might be tricking visitors into clicking the ad because it is so close to an outbound link? I mean, honestly it does look like the banner and the link are associated with each other. Googles TOS are a little gray in this area and I'm asking for real experiences with similar set ups from marketers who use adsense. Does that clarify at all? |

Notice I said WITHOUT BREAKING THEM. I didn't mean that you should try to get away with breaking them. I'm just saying it's a dog eat dog world. I'm trying to learn to eat and not be eaten.

If the banner is not as wide as the link unit and there is a space between them, I don't think that it is an issue. In other words, if the purpose of the banner is not intended to trick visitors into clicking the links of the link unit and it is not going to raise any doubts when Google checks your site, you don't have anything to worry about. As for links (any links) within your post, as long as they don't resemble AdSense ads, you don't have anything to worry about either. |

Should be fine. Google is a bit more lax with then most people think. They are more concerned with people clicking their own ads and such.

But on other sites I have always made site navigation and adsense links the same color. Is that the kind of thing you're referring to? And just to mention, I rarely ever use the actual image banners like I asked about for the new site. Just something I'm trying there. I usually use text links and code them the same color as site navigation. I dont try to disguise them or change the ad layouts or anything, just make them fit into the color scheme of the site. I was under the impression tha most people use adsense text ads that way.

| Thanks and of course I would never do that. Thats just stupid and I would never wanna scam a couple of bucks at the risk of losing access to a great source of continuous revenue. Just not worth it at all in my opinion. Do you feel, as another user said in this thread, that there should be a space between the ad and the link? They are not the same width btw.

As long as you aren't confusing your visitors to click ads, then you will be fine.
