free traffic methods

hey everyone,

I am new to IM and have just created my first website to promote some affiliate offers. Im trying to find ways to drive free traffic to it on a daily basis so I can build up a residual income from it.

I plan to write tons of articles about it and the products that all refer back to my website. How effective is this method? I know there are blog/article sites such as ezine that i can market on. What other article websites do u guys recommend?

Also, what other methods are there for driving free traffic to my website? My goal is to drive 1000 page views a day via free traffic sources.

Any other tips and pointers are welcome and appreciated.

I don't know how article marketing in this way works post-panda, but I know it used to work quite well. Not only did you get lots of links in, you got traffic from the articles too. at least if you wrote them the right way (short - make the resource box seem like part of the article). And, it gives you something to do while your site is getting noticed by the search engines.

If you are going totally free there is no reason not to try it.

Typically 75% of that 1000 page views would be coming from Google searches, reaching that level would take take a sustained program of SEO and superior content development. You may be best off first placing those articles on your own site, though this might limit the article sites that would accept it.

( Anyone out there getting 1000 page views from article site clicks? I have my doubts. )

Try searching the keywords you expect your site would be found by and survey the sites that rank on page one, almost all traffic comes from the top half of page one, site explorer gives you an idea of the page count and in links you would need to get there.

I'd recommend creating a twitter account. Find a Guru. Pick anyone. They have followers. Follow their followers. Tweet things that offer them value. Mix in your links. In due time you can see this amount of traffic, along with writing articles and getting traffic from the search engines. I'd also recommend that you get a tumblr page. I found that it's good for traffic as well.

Along with article marketing, you can use podcasting and video marketing to generate traffic. Download Audacity -- it's open source -- and record yourself reading aloud the content from each article. Windows Movie Maker, among other programs, will let you create videos easily. Use slides with bullet points if you can't find relevant images to use in your videos. Hope this helps.

Ask yourself what the competition is for this product/service. Then ask yourself what the competition is for the keywords that you are using to drive relevant traffic to your site. Then ask yourself "can I compete?" If you do not have the tools to answer these questions, then you need to research them.

True...so start with solid keyword research and sorting and just to inform you...Keyword research for effective SEO results needs a lot of patience and intelligent calculations, and then it is highly essential to optimize your 'original' content and web page.

Other things you can do then is to write articles and submit them..I suggest ezine, do Press releases, and engage in Social Bookmarking.

Sign up to SEObook and get their free toolbar. This will give you information on your keyword competition in Google serps.

Search out your nearest keyword competitors' backlinks on the first page of Google serps and add yours to some of the same places where they would fit in when you add your comments.

Article marketing is very effective when it comes to getting free traffic. I would also suggest that you use some social bookmarking sites like Digg and that you do blog and forum commenting. When doing blog and forum commenting, make sure to provide value. If not, your comments will most likely be caught by the spam filter (blogging). A lot of people have their blogs set up to where they have to approve all comments. In forums, your posts get deleted, and you might get banned. You can also make use of social media sites like Twitter and so on.

When it comes to article directories, I like using Niche Volumes because I don't have to wait to get my articles approved. There also used to be a Goarticles that was newbie friendly as well. You could also check out Xomba.com. I have used that one a lot, too. There is also one called Streetarticles.com. There are tons of article directories, nowadays. You can actually start your own.

follow people there share general content until you ahve a follower base. promote your links when you grow your follower base

Here are just some of the methods I use:

Bookmarking, Articles Submissions, RSS Feeds, Website Submissions, Lenses, Hubs, Villages, Press Releases, PDFs, Videos and more.

There are so many options when it comes to free traffic, if used correctly you can make thousands.

Most people go about getting traffic the wrong way!

Instead of getting traffic to your site, how about you go to them. Your website and products arent gunna sell themselves now are they????

So go to the place where your most likely buyers / customer / prospect is hanging out and try to put your message infront of them. Simple as that.

Getting traffic is more about working smarter, not harder.

100 highly targeted visitors, is better than 10,000 hits to your site that are untargeted.

Not sure how or if panda affected this, but get your articles/reviews/ezines with backlinks to your site onto the big name forums/blogs/social network sites that always come up on page 1.

You do of course have to couple this with good hard work.

For a squeeze page, get that mentioned as much as you can on relevant high traffic sites so you can build your list. Once you have a good list, getting organic search traffic isnt as crucial. Search engines are only one source of traffic generation.

For your article writing and submitting you may want to find software that does all the things you need articles, social networking, rss, press releases, videos. I use SEnukeX and it does a good job. it kind of frees you up to explore and put other ideas into play as well.

Aside from article marketing, squidoo/hubpages, and blogging, facebook and twitter is the best source of free traffic too.

Of course all these other marketing methods WILL bring in traffic but organic traffic through SEO will be the long term plan you might want to consider. As for all my sites, that's what I do to bring in 100 to 1000 views a day.

Just think about how do you find most websites? Is it Google? Then you need your website at the top of google for your target keywords, learn as much about this as possible and you will get all the free traffic you can handle.

Guest Blogging is an effective to drive traffic to your site

The best way to do article marketing is to test it out in your niche. Here's how I approach things...

Lets say you have 10 products in your funnel. Each product sells for $50, so you have a $500 value in your product funnel right now.

Now assume you are writing 10 articles a day. Each article is instantly driving 5 visitors in a span of one month. With this you can expect to get 1500 visitors from your articles every month.

Now you send this traffic to your squeeze page which has a 33.33% conversion rate. So you get 500 leads in your funnel.

Assuming all your 10 products have 1% conversion rate, this means you will be getting 5 sales out of every product in your funnel from 500 leads.

That means you will make total 50 sales, that equals to $50 * 50 sales = $2500 income in one month.

Now that you know these numbers and you have tested things out you can easily hire someone, spend $4 per article and write and submit 300 articles every month on autopilot. This will cost you $1200 and you will have a net profits of $1300 without doing any work. Plus as an added benefit you are growing your list at 500 per month, so more income in the long run.

With this setup you are not only getting free traffic, but also $1300 income plus 500 leads per month...
