Default Google Dance Example (With Visual Image)

I know some people are new here and you often here about the Google dance. I just wanted to show people visually what this looks like.

Here is another example of a client that we had done two link building campaigns for. The keyword gets 4,400 global exact match searches per month and has an Adwords CPC of $1.50. This is a pretty average keyword.

The client originally ranked #68 and after the first blast settled the client ranked #8 rather consistently. As you can see for about 2 days the website dropped out of Google before it consistently ranked #8.

We performed a second blast and it looks like the client's rankings fell off the map again. This is called the Google Dance. It is when Google is looking at your new links. As you can see it took a few days to recover, but the website came back stronger at #6 and continued to hold that position.

The key here is build links --> settle --> build links --> settle

For these 2 specific clients, yes. Although I do use other methods for my own sites and certainly recommend that other people also diversify their link portfolio as much as they can to get quality links from different IPs, platforms and domains. (Yes, SENukeX can help get your there, but it shouldn't be the only thing you do).

I've having one hell of a google dance right now. Site is 9 months old. I dropped from #12 to not even in the top 200 for my main keyword. I do have some keywords sitting at like 70-90 though and all pages are still indexed. Almost all my keywords were in the top 20. I did ping a ton of backlinks... hoping it doesn't take long to recover.
