Default Still using SEO keywords on your blog/site?

Hi fellow experienced members,

I've recently had problems with my new theme and my All In One SEO plugin. They won't behave and work together!

My theme is Clear Line and it has a built in SEO for the site. It allows you to enter the site's title tag, keywords and description. The All In One SEO plugin however, has that PLUS allows you to enter title tags, keyword tags and description tags for every post.

So, still using keywords, I set my theme to "third party", which deactivates its SEO function and allows the plugin to function instead. Well, that's how it's supposed to work. But NOOOOOOoooo.

My site's title and post title no longer appear in the top browser bar...?! So, does that mean that my plugin is not functioning? I could easily deactivate my plugin and turn the theme's SEO function on, but it does not do as much as the plugin. It doesn't allow for keyword and tag input on individual posts.

So, this leads to my question...do you still use keywords, title tags and description for your individual posts? There seems to be two camps on keyword use. Some for, and some who say it's a waste of time.

Yes, you need to have title, description and keyword tags for each one of your pages and post.

Title tags are one of the most important factor that plays role in your rankings.

And you just don't need to be on the first page of google you need to get visitors from there. So should also think about increasing your CTRs and that's where you description tag comes in. You can write something appealing in your description tag and can also add some call to action such as "Get in to get FREE report". It will definitely increase your CTRs.

Google no longer takes keyword tag into consideration for ranking but other seach engines do so you should make your keyword tags for each post and page.

IF WE DID NOT USE WEBSITE NAME AS A KEYWORD IN BLOG COMMENTING, THEN HOW CAN WE GET BACKLINKS. I THINK THIS IS MUST.

I am writing my own forum for my site and just noticed the title and meta tags used here for posts. I didn't even think about changing those on my forum, but thanks to your question, I will now.

Thanks!

Absolutely. Still an essential part of the puzzle in my eyes.

Are you sure that when you setup your All in One SEO plugin that you went to the settings and set everything up for the home page (as well as enabled it and also entered all info on it for every blog post)? If you disabled your theme's SEO function, you shouldn't be having any issues with the All in One SEO plugin.

I have a couple themes (CTRTheme and some WooThemes) that all have their "own SEO" built-in, but both have options to use third-party plugins. I simply disable their built-in feature and use my All in One SEO plugin without issue. My guess is something is with that theme you're using and the way it's built-in SEO features are structured.

bhuff85,
Thanks for the feedback. It was definitely a glitch in my theme, but has since been upgraded and corrected.

Hi,
Why not meta keywords are very important in search engine crawling. Only google is not considering keywords. Remaining all search engines will give very much importance for keywords.

Thanks,
