Default HOw long before you give up on a site

So this year, I registered a total of 14 domains since January, and have them all up and running...Only 7 of them are generating income as of the moment and the remaining 7 are half half...some of them are showing a little potential while the others are not improving at all...

So my question is, how long do you work on a site before you decide its not worth your time anymore, that its time to ditch it and move on....

I usually give my site 6 months ultimatum. lol. that is a 6 months of not benefiting from it. otherwise, i will stick to 1 year and spend some time to those that are not earning doing seo.

it is just like, planting a tree... it takes time..

GOOD, BETTER and BEST;. Never let it rest,. until your GOOD is BETTER, and your BETTER is BEST!....

Depends on the niche, overall goals, and how I'm measuring the success of a website.

Most sites I'll give 6 - 8 months, I have other websites that are long term ventures that I've given two years on and probably another year to go.

It all greatly depends on the end goal.

I will just let it run until the domain expires and if they havent produced by that time I just wont renew the domain name.

i think when you are new, the project give up rate is high, probably even close to 100%. Over the years as you refine your skills and learn the ins and outs, you get better and picking and choosing a project. Eventually you just know if it will work out or not and mostly likely you are not starting dozens or hundreds of projects a year, you are probably starting just a few with larger payouts.

Last year I started 3 projects, 2 are paying out really well now that they are 1 year old and continue to grow. The 3rd project was started end of last year so its still in infancy. This year I have started 5 new projects, all of which are still in the works. 1 has started generating a revenue just a month ago and the others are just about to hit top 10 rankings on super competitive keywords. The payout on last years 3 projects and this years 5 projects are much bigger than anything I went after in my first years of internet marketing. I just choose larger paying off projects and know how long I need to invest in time so there is little to no give up rate

thanks for all the input...i think i want to change my strategy...last year, I concentrated on building authority sites and they are all doing good presently...it was only this year that I discovered niche marketing so I end up registering a lot of sites (and became overwhelmed at some point)...i will go back to my old strategy and just be patient in trying to rank my sites.

If you have work for 6 months on it..why dont carry on to see if it works out..give it more attention for the next 3 months..used the money you have made and reinvest..good luck

I generally wait for 1 year or so before thinking of giving up on any site.

I would said keep it as long it still generating positive cash flow on autopilot or else make an offer rather then expired.

One simple tips is that if the income can cover the cost..leave it..

Reason is being that you have spent time and effort on it and SEO takes time...many times you heard people getting small income from forgotten website...

I usually give up a domain if it doesn't earn me any penny for 6 months.
