How good PPC works?

There are many contradictions regarding PPC and that makes a confusing scenario. Can anyone honestly suggest f PPC really works? If so, whats the best take?

If you want to take it seriously, expect to lose a bit of money when you first start out. With PPC it takes a lot of tweaking and finding the perfect keyword to get a decent ROI. If you do your research, and you're prepared to lose money initially, PPC can be extremely profitable.

Yes it works and yes you typically have to spend money testing to find winning keywords.

The problem is most don't do it right then fail quickly and give up.
