Default [FIVERR] Many EDU links for $5? Too good to be true? Is it safe to buy?

Hey guys!

I was just surfing fiverr a while ago and found some seo gigs which really interested me. However, i was wondering if it was safe to buy these gigs, with 0 feedback.

For example,
If you search "edu backlinks" and click on the first result,
hxxp://fiverr.com/users/edu_backlinkers/gigs/create-120-guaranteed-live-verified-edu-backlinks-to-your-site?ref=glst-g-ttl (Sorry for the hxxp, i cant post links yet)

It promises 120 live edu backlinks to your site, which is great, but it has 0 feedback. Question is, is it safe to purchase?

Thanks for your time!

Build a quick blogger or wordpress. com blog, order the gigs and let us know the result. Never know until you try it isn't it?

I can't really trust this people.

One thing is 0 feedback and also I saw that he's using watermarked image as the example image. From this I can say, that he has no idea about copyrights and who knows if he even has any idea about SEO or backlinking.

I truly think, that most of these backlinks will be some kind of spam which doesn't do any good to your website ranking.

I just recommend you to find someone trustful, who has great positive feedback and try him out.

It may be safe to buy, but just of no value? They're likely to be non-context-relevant PR-0 backlinks, so not worth any more than article directory backlinks? That's the normal outcome, when people are selling backlinks like that.

Contrary to widespread belief, .edu backlinks aren't worth anything "extra" just because they're .edu backlinks, as explained in much more detail here.

don't bother. just because a link is .edu, it doesn't mean it's of any more value than a .info (and notably, vice versa).

these sites are not strong or week on the merit of their domain name! typically, .edu sites have a large number of incoming links so rank stronger, but this more has to do with they're content than anything else (authorities people want to link to).

I suspect that this user may be spamming blog posts with comments on low-quality sites and thus, will be of no value to you.

Nothing to see here

If you're asking if it's 'safe' as in will the person deliver - then the answer is, that's hard to know.

With 0 feedback and a sketchy offer, it's likely that he'll take your money and do nothing of value.

Or like Alexa pointed out, he might take your money and do the backlinking for you - which may end up doing nothing for you anyway.

I'd suggest passing on this one - but if you're dead set on purchasing, why not email the seller and ask them some questions about their methods and the effectiveness of their service?

If they seem flighty or don't know how to answer your questions, well then that's a pretty good indicator that they don't know what they're doing and you probably shouldn't buy.

There is a guy who will do 20 high pr .edu and .gov backlinks for $5 and has hundreds of positive feedback. Dont remeber his name, search by popularity under the seo tab, he came up first for me.

Im thinking of doing that one myself

Once again Alexa saved me some typing.

Call me a skepchick, but at Fiverr, positive feedback typically indicates only that the person has done what they said, not that it was of any value. People leave their "feedback" on completion of the gig, not after assessing its value. Just an observation.

Also, don't fall for the .edu.** trick. .edu.xx is not the same as .edu

If you want a decent service.. then don't order it on fiverr..
Check out the warriors for hire section.. you'll get much more value even if it will cost a bit more.

Well... you should ask the seller whether his links have high, on-page PR. If not, then just skip this gig.

When buying anything from fiverr you should always hit the rating button and get the highest rated sellers. This is safety net for you. There are great sellers and the .edu links they sell can be good. I would recommend the lower quanity links. Its never good to build to many links to fast. Even .edu links. Try to get a gig from someone that has a high rating. (Top seller) and look for edu links between 10-25.

Does it work similar to eBay?

The rating system, that is.

.edu backlinks are so freaking worthless. I don't know why anyone would chase them.

However, you're being indecisive about $5 on Fiverr? Really?

If they don't do the work, you dispute it and get your money back. Not that hard.

Like I said though, going after .edu backlinks is an exercise in futility. You might as well just buy a Scrapebox or Xrumer blast.

I made the mistake of buying a couple .edu link gigs on Fiverr a long awhile ago. I may as well have thrown $5 into a slot machine, because at least with that I would've had a chance at getting something in return.

There are a lot of great gems on Fiverr if you do some digging, but most of the .edu gigs I've seen definitely don't fall into that group.

I've got tons of similar .edu links and they make no difference. They are just like any other backlinks. Unless the backlinks come from the main page of the .edu site (which is highly unlikely) don't bother.

I don't know why everyone bashes Fiverr.. Maybe they're junk for backlinks but I loved their results for:

1) Graphics - my headers and FB.
2) The cool welcome video on my sites.
3) Welcome Facebook video
4) Facebook reveal tabs
5) Squidoo lenses

I think this is less of a "bash Fiverr" than "bash the silly notion .edu backlink packages are worth $5" thread.

Fiverr's fantastic -- but you get out of it only what you put into it. Do your due diligence when selecting a provider and remember that feedback is only reflective of the buyer's feelings right after the service is performed. It doesn't mean the gig turned out to be useful.

You want back links, do it yourself, or order a single, original article to be written as a back link. Fiverr is a risky place to buy back links. On a new site, you may even be de-indexed by Google for spamming. There are definitely gigs worth buying, but don't buy software spam back links. Quality is the key.

I ordered a couple of services (YouTube views) from fiverr and the providers never delivered results. It's like the wild west, you take your chances if you hire somebody from that site.
