Default SEO Vs. Adwords

What would you choose? And what brings more traffic and sales?

If you are a large corporation that can pay for professional SEO then I would go with that because in the long run you will get organic search engine traffic.

If you have advertising expenses to spend and really want targeted traffic then Adwords. Keep in mind most CPC's are anywhere from $1-27 ($27 being the highest) so you have to find out if one click on your website is worth that amount.

The ideal way to promote a site would be to SEO + PPC. Adwords can bring the initial traffic while SEO results are organic. When the site gets serp traction then phase out ppc.

Another vote for SEO. Consider that in a Google search, a user only clicks on a paid ad about 4-6% of the time. The other 90+%, that click is going to the organic search results.

SEO takes time, but it's worth it in the long run.

I have always viewed adwords in two ways:

1, a quick fix for instant traffic
2, for very comeptetive keyword use

Most of my clients stick to organic on page, then switch to offf page if needed, providing your site is not ultra competetive it usually works.

I'll go by Rocket web. Once you have the initial traffic, you don't need adwords taking up space on your most valuable page on the website. SEO maintains the traffic, and you are in control of what you do.

SEO is good for more generalized search results. It's hard to optimize a website for 30 different variations of a buyer keyword that might get 10 searches a month for 15,000 keywords. With Adwords, you can just create a formula in excel and add them all to your list.

Both are important.

Both have their benefits, it comes down to your site, your conversions, your keywords, your competition, your budget, your goals, very subjective matter, if you're in it for the long term then SEO is a must.

Hi kamalmix,

There is a fairly steep learning curve to AdWords. I recommend that you get the basics down before looking at any other courses. This link is the best place to get started, in my opinion:

AdWords Help - Learning Center

Go through the course training and practice exams to get a solid foundation to begin your learning. Then, before launching your first campaign, study the Adwords Policies, including Google's Webmaster Guidelines which are part of AdWords compliance requirements. Bookmark this page and visit regularly to keep up with policy changes:

AdWords Policy Change Log - AdWords Help

Next, open an account and start with a small daily budget. Set aside a budget just to learn the ropes, with no expectation of making a profit. Once you have ran a few campaigns, and learned how to optimize those learning campaigns, try a serious effort at a profitable campaign for profit. There is a lot to learn so pace yourself and try not to get discouraged while learning. The payoff comes down the road, once you have mastered the basics and start learning intermediate and advanced strategies.

SEO is like building and owning your own home, compared to simply renting. PPC has its role, for sure, but I alway, always, always opt for SEO when it's a realistic option. A smart Adwords campaign can serve as an effective gap filler until your SEO efforts kick in.

SEO is best in the long run. PPC can be used to find out which keywords convert then do SEO for those words.

PPC can be an option to get a new site traffic right away.
