Default Is this right? Index no follow

If im making an affiliate website promoting a product, I want to add the FAQ and testimonials from the affiliate site.

Can I just copy and paste into my site and put index, no follow and then the search engines wont look there to see its unoriginal copy.

Or is this wrong and I need to spin it all which seems stupid.

Cheers

I'm assuming you don't want the FAQ / Testimonial page indexing. If this is the case then all of the links leading into the page should be no follow and the page itself should be no index.

You will have to edit robot.txt to prevent SE's from visiting the page, just making the link no-follow won't prevent them from crawling the page, it's just you telling google to not pass any juice to those pages. I would recommend that you do your own FAQ and testimonials unless you have permission from the vendor, otherwise it would be copyright violation not to mention if G does find it you will get a dupe content penalty.

You could maybe rewrite the info slightly so it appears unique. You obviously wouldn't want to make things up or mislead visitors and your readers though.

I agree with the other posters, you shouldn't copy/paste other people's material without permission as it is copyright infringement.

However, what you can do is copy/paste with adding a link to the original page (with nofollow if you choose). Then you can noindex this page and nofollow all the links leading to this page.

Just to be sure, contact the actual owner of the site and ask him if you can use his FAQ & Testimonials, and he'll tell you what you need to hear.
