Skip to last paragraph for a simple question. Is there a point in trying to build a list for nice affiliate review sites, such as a site for promoting a particular line of products on say amazon? If so, I'm not sure where a landing page would go. It's not like with PPC advertising where you have Keyword(google)->landing page->offer, because its a site for reviews rather than for directing straight to offers. Suggestions? Is a list even worth while for review sites? Let's take my site from my sig as an example. Let's say I obtain a list from people who visit this site. Do I then direct them to posts on other sites I might make which also have household products and other offers from wherever I find them? An option perhaps also would be to build a network of separate niche sites relating to different household products and then have one site which acts as a "hub"? Any thoughts here at all would be great. Basically I'm wondering if there is a way to "sustain" niche sites as more than just advertising the products themselves. What I'm looking for I suppose is a way to meet the needs of a market, rather than to advertise one particular line of products. Obviously a relation with the market would need to be established. But how do we do this with review sites? |

List building can have huge potential. you can direct the people on your list wherever you want to, but if you have a targeted list that is looking for one particular solution and you spam them with irrelevant offers, you will lose them. you are correct that you can have a site that is a general hub, but if you get too general, your traffic becomes less targeted, unless you build a list that trusts you and returns time after time for a market you satisfy.

Thanks nico. What's the best way to make a list with a review site? Pop-ups and registration pages? Because I can't put a landing page between google and my reviews because I imagine that would reduce conversions?
