Default Web 2.0 and Free Blog Backlink Question

First off, I just want to say thanks to you guys in advance for all the info I've received in my short time at WF.

Secondly, sorry if I ask another elementary question, but I'm a little confused.

In regards to Web 2.0 (Squidoo, Hubpages) and Free Blogs (Blogger, Wordpress, etc.) what does it mean to submit an article?

My understanding is that for each niche site you would need to create a new free blog and web 2.0 and post (not submit) an article with anchor text backlink.

My question is really two-fold.

1. Do you guys create new blogger[dot]com blogs for reach micro niche and post 1 article with a backlink and leave it? So, if you had 100 micro niche sites you would have 100 blogger[dot]com blogs?

2. What does it mean to "submit" to a Web 2.0? Aren't these the same as blogs, where you create a Squidoo Lens and just post an article? Again, do you create a new lens for each micro niche or new Squidoo page?

Seems like a ton of work to do this, maybe I'm just confused.

Thanks!

Web 2.0 properties is just one of many ways to gain backlinks.

I personally never do web 2.0 since its time consuming and gives pr 0 backlinks. Google ranks pages and not domains and every page has a thing called pr that Will determinate how good a backlink is from that page (remember pr isnt the only factor that determies the strenght of a backlink but it is one of the most important) The problem with page rank is that even if wordpress home page is pr8 that dosent mean that your wordpress blog Will be pr8, it Will actually be pr0. As you probably understand now, a brand new web 2.0 isnt worth much since its pr 0.

One thing to do is build backlinks to the web 2.0, a so called link pyramid, this is effective but time consuming.

So i dont use web 2.0 much, what do i consider great backlinks?

Im a member of diffrent blog networks that post my posts with backlinks in to relevant High pr blogs, blog networks may be expensive but i truly think the results is worth the price, a free and also great alternative is to do guest posts on blogs in your niche just search niche+guest post. Guest posts and blog networks are just a small part of a big backlinking strategie, never focus on one thing, do various types of backlinks from various sources and you Will see that first spot ranking.

Just wanted to tell you a little about what I think about web 2.0 and some great alternatives to it.

Hope i helped you.

Alexander, I appreciate your insight.

However, I'm still curious about the people that do set these up for micro niche sites. I'm trying to figure out if some people are manually setting up hundreds of these blogs for every micro niche site they make.

I know the link juice won't be high for reasons you stated. But it is still, in my opinion, a quality link that will be better than a lot of other methods. And...it's free.

Does anybody else use web 2.0? I'd love to hear some insight before I waste my time doing it all wrong.

its better to post on hubpage and squidoo lenns as compare to blogger if you just posting a single article. Blogger is best platform when you publish content on regular basis. Hubpage and squidoo is content sharing website it will helps you to get backlink and traffic.

You can rank with blogger with a single article, but I would recommend you to have a well established blogger and wordpress blog where you write content from time to time...You can link from these posts at any time, but do keep in mind of not spamming these blogs if you want the link juice to be passed on to your main website.

I'm mostly referring to a backlinking strategy that went like this:

1. Create 5 free blogs, post 1 article with anchor text link back to money site

2. Create 5 2.0 sites, post 1 article with anchor text link back to money site

3. Submit 5 articles to top article directories (such as ezine).

4. Submit to 5 social bookmark sites

5. Create several original articles, spin to 50% unique content and mass submit spun articles, linking to free blogs, 2.0 and top article directories in order to build their link juice.

However, I've noticed most warriors are utilizing profile links, blog comments and edu links over the above strategy.

My question is directly related to step #1. I just want to know if people that use this strategy are creating 5 free blogs for each micro niche they create. So, if you had 100 micro niche sites, you would have 500 free blogs with just 1 article on them.

Just do it, no point talking about it.
It works for me but it more of a long term plan.
Conceder this strategy as one of the many that you can implement.

Using web 2.0 sites is a great way to get backlinks to your site. But it should be just one of the techniques you use.

If you are going to use this method you could set up one for each site or you could use one for several sites. Either way is fine, just make sure they are relevant.

You would not want to link from a "cat training" blog to a site about how to do back flips. It just would not make any sense. There is a big debate about if relevance matters, but if you are in control why not make the most of it and keep it relevant?

I prefer to set up these sites manually, but others like automated tools. You are going to have to decide what is best for you and your budget.

These Web 2.0 sites will get page rank, but most of them will require some content 5-10 posts. Except for sites like Squidoo or Hubpages, which will gain page rank easily for a single article.

Treat these sites like mini sites and throw backlinks at them just like you referred to in your strategy. (bookmarks, articles, directories, ect....)

There is not a single backlinking source that will give you the results you want. You need a nice mixture of backlinking form many sources to propel your site to the top.
