PLR articles and article backlinking

So I have read on here from a lot of you that google doesnt really care about duplicate content, so is it possible to buy a pack of PLR articles related to my niche and use them for my article submission to get backlinks?

Article directories don't accept PLR content. You could post it to somewhere such as a blogger blog, but as it's duplicate content I think Google would just put it in the supplemental index.
