Hey guys, This is my first post... I'm a noob here and a noob to affiliate marketing. My site gets 9k daily hits and am making around $100/day from adsense. I would like to expand my horizons and need tips on affiliate marketing. Does Google even allow affiliate links on a adsense site. Any insight into this is welcome. How can one optimize this traffic. Let me know... |

What does 9K hits really mean in your frame of reference? Hits are calls to the server and isn't a good indication of traffic. Does that mean 9K pageviews or 9K individual users a day? This would help us to answer your question.

check your visits per day or per month. this should give you a better idea of how your traffic is doing. but seeing as you're making $100 per day on adsense, i'd say why not incorporate both, affiliate product and adsense? also, welcome to WF |

Split test it, not hard to do really. Either use a split testing service, or do a simple test yourself. Always, always, alwaysssss split test. Also depends on your niche really... But again, test it first. |

| Will, I guess I'm too new to this. How does one split test exactly? Can you recommend a testing service? Sorry for the stupid questions.

One visitor sees A, another sees B. It rotates back and forth to get an accurate "split... test".

Try to increase your pageviews, less than 2 page views per visitor isn't very good (unless your site is a landing page only, but if its a site with lots of free content, add more links in your sidebars and footers to your content pages). Search the clickbank marketplace for products that your traffic would be interested in, then test them out. You can do Split testing manually. Just add a new offer to your site, or change the position of a link, or change some of the text, and if it makes you more money or gets you more page views, then keep it that way. |

Also, statistically speaking, it takes just as many visitors (on average - 1/100) to get an adsense click as it does to make an affiliate sell. Why get paid .30 a click when you could be making $30+/sale, especially if up-sells are selling really well? Up-sells can turn a regular $20 or $30 sale into a $100 or $200 sale. Joey

Don't also dis count split testing your actual Google Adsense ads. Have you tested different placements, different ad colors, different ad sizes etc? It is not unheard of to double your Google Adsense income overnight by just changing a few things around.

I think $100 a day is good start. Try to improve by finding other places in your website where visitors can see your add without finding it annoying

lar, are you running Google Analytics linked to your AdSense account? If you are then do a breakdown of how each page on your site is performing. You may find some that are underperforming based on the site's average. You can start with these for testing affiliate offers without risking your entire AdSense income. I know on my Adsense sites that my traffic is too diverse to just use one offer. Some pages are also not suitable to promoting a product so it would be pointless removing AdSense from them. You can also promote your affiliate product with AdSense still active on the page. It depends on how you recreate the content etc. Another trick is to add in Amazon products where applicable, causing minimal change to your content. |

I would definitely test it out and yes google allows you to have adsense with affiliate links. But everything depends on your niche. Find some offers that are related and post them up and test it out to see you are converting. Try to find products that are showing up in your Google Adsense ads. Since people are clicking on them anyways. There might be a chance they'll click and buy something.

Welcome to the forum. I must congratulate you on making $100/day from Adsense. There are many here who don't make even $100/month. It is best to keep every model different. Don't have affiliate links on Adsense site and similarly don't have adsense on Affiliate promoting site.. Be focused on one thing for every website you own. Good luck |

I don't know what your site is about, but if it's a good fit I'd try selling my own product before I'd go the affiliate route. You'd get to keep 100% of sales instead of 50-75% commissions. You could easily be building a mailing list that way, too.
