Is the .com even remotely related to your niche? You want to have keywords in your domain name, but if .infos tend to be spammny and .coms tend to carry more weight.

| In our testing, .com, .org, and .net preformed significantly better than other TLDs. If the exact match domains is not available using those, we suggest going with another keyword.

I would go for .info if it is suitable for the purpose of the site, I mean if the website you are planning is informational website and not eCommerce site or anything. Made a little video for a threads like this: ![]() |

Yes for a authority site go with the .com otherwise if it's a landing page/affiliate site targeting just one kw then go with the .info

There's a big debate about .info's, dashes in the domain name, etc. Depending on who you talk to and their experience, you'll get varying answers. From our experience, it's simply more work with off-site seo to get .info's and dashes in the domain ranked. Now...is that because of the URL specifically, or the fact that the .com/.net/.org's aren't available, showing that there's higher competition for the keyword? I don't know... Still, we won't go for a .info, dashes, extra letters, etc. unless the reward is well worth the risk and extra effort we have to put in...but that's just our experience. |

We avoid using .info's & .org's for ecommerce stores. The general mentality with .info's & .org's is that they will contain information, not products. I would use the .com for sure. If you are determined to have your keywords in your URL you can put them in a sub-directory name & build your backlinks to that URL. If it's not an ecommerce store than the .info would be fine. Honestly, I don't think it matters what your extension is for ranking purposes. We have gotten .info's ranked just as well & easily as .com's & .net's. Contrary to popular belief! |
