I just got it recently and am only using it for keyword competition. It does have a nice feature by letting you know of related domains you can buy that are available and ranks them by traffic. I have no need for that unfortunately. Now I have a forum and am using Serpiq for a different purpose than what many on here would use it for, but what I've learned so far is that the sites ranking ahead of me tend to be better in two ways....first is thay almost always have more links to the page being ranked. I'm never going to compete in that regard because I'm not going out looking to develop link campaigns for individual forum threads. The other issue is that the related information ranked ahead of me is frequently right on a homepage, whereas my information is usually in a forum thread 4-5 levels deep off the homepage. You can really see how hard it becomes for new topics on my forum to rank well, especially when Again, tough to compete. My homepage has the following stats for one of my main keywords: URL PR: 5 Domain PR: 5 URL BL: 2213 Domain BL: 3678 mozRank: 4 Page Authority: 48 Domain Authority: 40 Domain Age 7 One of my stronger forums 2 levels off the homepage for one of my main keywords ranks: URL PR: 3 Domain PR: 5 URL BL: 20 Domain BL: 3678 mozRank: 3 Page Authority: 32 Domain Authority: 40 Domain Age 7 One of my stronger threads 4 levels off the homepage not for a focus keyword has: URL PR: 2 Domain PR: 5 URL BL: 3 Domain BL: 3678 mozRank: 3 Page Authority: 26 Domain Authority: 40 Domain Age 7 A new thread I started not with a focus keyword pulls up as: URL PR: 0 Domain PR: 5 URL BL: 0 Domain BL: 3678 mozRank: 0 Page Authority: 1 Domain Authority: 40 Domain Age 7 So I found this an interesting tool to really see how my threads change from new to established, and what to look for when starting a new thread if I wish for it to rank well and bring in traffic. I may need to lower my expectations a bit about what I can rank for with a thread, or focus on linking more into the homepage with the hope that some of the juice flows down to the individual threads and bumps their rankings up a bit too. |

Here's another way I use...apologize in advance for the video quality, it was my first effort making a video and I loved the premise of "Find A Profitable Niche In 5 Minutes" so it felt a little rushed, should have gone for the 10 minute angle, maybe on the reshoot. |
