Default For everyone thinking about or using a private blog network, do you know what you're getting?

When I ask this, say you're submitting an article with links back to your site and it's going to be randomly placed on a blog in a network.

I've yet to see any mention of anything regarding whether or not the article is placed on a site with content related to your website you're linking to. Granted, I also have no idea how many other external links are on the site my article gets placed on.

Obviously the PR is a crap shoot too.

Am I missing something? Are there private blog networks that are industry specific like for health? Obviously, once your site develops a few links

Do you all gain comfort that these sites aren't whored out with external links and your articles aren't put on nothing but poor PR blogs because once our links are indexed by google we can go back and check out the sites they're on?

Just trying to get my arms wrapped around whether or not a blog network is right for me.

I would be using this network to boost up a message board in a competitive field, and possibly another blog I have, that I really only use to send more juice back to the message board.

Blog networks have worked well for many people. There were a two or three threads on blog networks in the past week or two that were very informative. Do a search and find them, it will answer quite a few questions.

I think that most of the time, your article will appear as the post and your links will be near the end in a resource box type of thing. Links in the post article get more juice than if the link was in a comment, from what I understand anyway.

Check out those threads.

Just my 2 cents, there are many on the market, some or good, some or bad, I wouldn't like to praise or advertise, but I would recommend you to pick the ones which put a lot of effort in their content revision.

That's why you there's more than one blog network out there.

If you want a network that isn't "whore-ed" out, try BuildMyRank.com

Forget mattlaclear's. The only reason he can afford to build backlinks to you infinitely is because he only use PR0 .info's, whore'ed out with spun articles, linking to random members websites.

I've read those threads. But at the end of the day, yes it's good to have links to your site in the post body of an article, but as someone who has a health related site, I'm not going to get as much value if I'm getting links from unrelated real estate blogs vs. say a weight loss blog.

I can't think of any blog networks that have sites dedicated to only 1 topic and all articles on those topics go there, and others to other sites on that topic, etc.

Some have categories and split them up like that, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a niche specific blog network.

If you're really adamant that you want your content only on blogs that are of the same topic as your site you'll probably have to contact them individually and try and be a guest author on them.

Are you sure? And how much less value are you getting?

Anyhow, if you are really set on the sites in a network being related to your niche, then I would suggest you build your own network. You can scour auctions for keyword related domains that are expiring, scoop them up, and develop them to your liking.

What we tell our clients is to simply record your rankings at the time of ordering and watch them! If you're not moving up strong and hard which good quality private links will do for you then bail on your subscription, it's in the interests of the network owner to deliver on his promise, as he will then keep most of his clients, there's a lot of money in being honest.

I don't have time to setup a blog network so to speak, too busy running/expanding my forum. Google at times struggles to know what my site is a about....and having links from a bunch of random sites probably isn't going to help that. If I'm trying to be considered an authority in a health related niche by google, you would think that getting a bunch of links from non-health related sites wouldn't be optimal for that cause.

There's always that option too.
