Default Moving to a new site - SEO concerns

Hi,

for about a year I've been running my site on a specially reprogrammed Wordpress environment, which is multi user and not that flexible (although esy to work with). I'm thinking about moving to a new, standard wordpress environment. However, I'll have to move all my posts manually, which means the link for each page won't be the same. Will that affect my SEO? I know that the backlinks that point to my main url stay the same (since I'm keeping the domain name), but I'm not sure if there are any other that point to separate pages.
I've worked pretty hard on this website and don't want to mess up my efforts by doing something stupid .
What do you think?

btw. I'll be posting another thread where I ask about the design of it.

I hope I was clear with my question
Thanks for your help
Ivan

If your URLs are going to change you will need to set up redirects in order to retain your links and search engine rankings.

You say that you're keeping the same domain - does that mean your new site will be in a different folder within the same domain or simply that you're keeping the domain name active but your new site will be on a different domain?

If it's the former this article may help (although you'll need to change the folder names to the ones relevant to your site):

Cheers,

Martin.

Hi,
I have move my site recently, I just redirect my old domain to new domain name by htaccess, it's working fine and my old domain pages are indexed in google and it's appear in search results but when someone click on it, it goes to my new domain with same searched page.

I just want to know is it fine for SEO or I'll get plenty or harm my new domain please advice.

Thanks

It's not ideal, you have to weigh the expected benefits versus the hassle of doing so, if you really think the new url's will make a difference then yes you can do it without negatively affecting your SEO, there will just be a lull period for the new url's to show up in the serps again. I'm a fan of sub domains btw.

Setting up a new site will not affect your seo or rankings. Just make sure you keep the same content on each page and also make sure you keep the url the same as it used to be(same extension). If the url is going to be something different than it originally was then you will need to set up a 301 redirect.

Thanks for all your replies guys!
Just to clarify: my domain will stay the same: masculinefreedom.com However, the separate URLs for the blog posts will be different. Since my permalinks were sert up according to the date and the name of the post. The dates on the new site will be obviously different, and hence the links. Does that mean I somehow need to do a redirect 301 redirects for EVERY blog post??

Thanks again!
Ivan
