Default How true it is that Google only shows results from its Cache?

I just searched for a phrase from my freshly uploaded page and Google found it on my site as the only result on the internet.
I did the search logged off of my Google account and using a different PC with a different IP all together.

I then clicked "Cached" to see the cached version of the page and... surprise, surprise!
The page was not cached. The Google cache showed me the old, empty test page that I had up before instead.

So, does Google only search its cache?
Because if it does, then it shouldn't have found the phrase that I just searched for - it's simply not in Google's cache at all.

No answers? There must be an explanation.

It's a technical question. See, google has many ways of getting data
on your site. Some of the info stored on the different ways is not
the same. So, during a given search at hand, google may access one
way, which may not have all updated info.

Google has different bots crawling all over the net. Do you have adsense?
Is it a blog? All of these contribute to a cross-over effect.

Google won't admit it outright, but if you have adsense, and your page
is active, it does get crawled more, with the "adsense bot," and other
"regular" bots. So, your site might get data from the adsense bot,
show these in search results, but the last official google crawl still shows
the cache as being old.

It's a way of saving time, accessing the fastest way to get info.

Now everything I've said might not be 100% correct. But it is a way
of showing how sometimes things don't match up.

And by crawling more, I mean crawled from different bots, not necessarily
actually crawling more. Confusing.

In my experience, Google crawls and shows fresh results in the SERP(even before cached). Later it indexes the crawled content.

You can see the results without "cached" link alsow.
To see these results without cached link next to them,
1) Try a blogger blog which used to be crawled very frequently
2) post a new post.
3) Few seconds/minutes later put the url in google and see

you will notice what i said above.

Google also has a bot for blog searches. Exactly what I was referring to above.
Eventually, they should all even out. The google bot will be the one they draw
from, complete with all updates.
