Hi, what would be more effective as I with to get rankings?

www.myhamburgershop.c0m/newyork
www.myhamburgershop.c0m/seattle

or

www.newyork.myhamburgershop.c0m
www.seattle.myhamburgershop.c0m

Note I pt a zero in the .com to stop the link to a example site i invented in my head.

Use the format mydomain.com/city

Subdomains will be less effective.

Just one word of caution: if you're doing this primarily for SEO reasons, make sure you're not just duplicating the same content and changing the keywords (especially if you're not going the subdomain route) because that is precisely the thing that can result in the penalisation of your entire site. (They'd be considered "doorway pages", I think, and those are frowned upon by Google).
