SEO Competition - Market Samurai - Help

Greetings from sunny England..

I am looking to develop a site, with the view of building it up into a brand - this isn't a short-term thing, but rather a 2 year plan to rank it number 1 in google.

I am looking at market samurai's SEO competition software, and have attached a screenshot of the keyword i'm looking to rank for. What I would like help on, is knowing whether I am aiming to high, based on the results below, would i need some serious funding to be able to rank for the keyword? Baring in minds its a 2 year project.

#1 looks pretty strong (is this an authority site ? amazon,wikipedia ?)

But the other first spots are beatable at first place !

If you know the niche and it's profitable....just go for it.

number 1 - isn't an authority site - just a big player within the niche.


How much would you say I would need to invest a month in link building/content to compete with the top players?

The competition loos strong.. However you have obviously planned ahead and 2 years is plenty of time to build a strong SEO campaign.

If you keep your SEO campaign consistent then I have no doubt you will be able to rank for your chosen keyword.

In your opinion, would you say that position 1, is going to be a serious challenge, which may take longer than 2 years? Especially as the domain will be brand-new.
