Submitting your website to RSS feeds helps to index your website. It is a part of the foundation of your blog along with lower quality links. Once you have the foundation then you start getting higher pr links to gain authority in search engines.

I used Bulkping a couple of weeks ago to create RSS feeds of links, then submitted them to the RSS directories, but the links haven't been indexed.

Indeed, pinging helps in fast webpage crawling. Since RSS feeds ping your subscribers so as to the search engines. I have seen many webmasters using their RSS feeds as Sitemaps.

Ping help a lot for quick indexing of your new pages on either your blog or your main website. But you should not overdo it. When you ping a lot - it looks like spamming on Google bots and that it may hurt your page as well as the whole website. Pinging can only be done (even on RSS feeds) at least once every two week or even once a week. |

If we wanted we could build an indexing service that just killed it. But I don't believe in that type of service at all - it's just smoke and mirrors that some people get hung up on instead of figuring out why their sites aren't ranking. Indexing is a function of backlinks to the page, page content, page age, domain, and who knows what else. That said, Linklicious will help your indexing some. We just don't want to preach it because in our tests it doesn't cost justify.

As other have stated there are many ways of doing it and yes it is generally worth it to at least ping your RSS feeds but it is also a good idea to submit to the different RSS directories and aggregators to get a little bit of extra link juice to it, this will help with indexing your RSS feed and your web pages quicker than just pinging them.
