Confused about Adsence and Affiliate Products

I am very confused about setting up an adsense site that also has affiliate products. Some people say it's okay to have both and others advise absolutely not to do that. In other words, does an adsense site have to be totally adense only or can you put up affiliate offers too?

And is it okay to have a store on an adsense site? Could you just put the store in the top navigation menu?

It's fine to have both, yep. The only restriction AdSense has is displaying ads from other networks which look really similar to AdSense (as some ad networks copy the AdSense style almost exactly). But AdSense + affiliate ads is fine.

As for a store - there's no problems there either. Naturally if there's a fairly empty page on your ecommerce store (such as if it's just the product and a tiny bit of text about that product), you wouldn't want to have AdSense ads on that particular page. But in general it's fine to have a store + AdSense.
