What happened to my ranking?!?

I had my site on the middle of the second page for my keywords until all of the sudden I'm not even in the top 100. I'm thinking it could be a couple of things. Any insight into which of these things it is more likely to be would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I've done:

1) I have two very similar sites. I finally decided that it wasn't worth the effort to maintain both of the sites and did a 301 redirect from one of the sites to the other. The site I decided to redirect was and still is at the top of the second page. It's the site that I re-directed to that has fallen off the face of the earth.

2) At about the same time, I fired my SEO firm (boostability.com, a subsidiary of seo.com) because I felt I wasn't getting what I paid for. I think it's awfully coincidental that my rankings plummeted after I did this..

3) I switched my hosting from Godaddy to bluehost. Everything went pretty smooth and it was all done pretty quickly.

The content of the site has remained the same throughout all of this.

Again, any insight into what caused this and suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

All these changes might have confused the Google's algorithm, thus making you "Google Dance". Don't worry, keep building links and Google will find a spot for your website.

Did Boostability rent out links that were contingent on you staying with them? If they did, they could have turned those links off.

Their terms and conditions don't indicate that they would... Is that pretty common?

Recently Google has derank many sites, not sure if this has to do with the SEO company but I think if your site is not totally sandbox, building more bakclinks will restore its' ranking.

Search on google using an entire sentence from your page, if it does not come up on google then google banned you.

By the way. I feel the same way about boostability. too much money for very small ROI.

This is not true. Don't even think about believing that.

You might get hit with the sandbox every now and again if you are doing some massive link building, but you can always get the site to recover.

I've had plenty of sites disappear from SERPs and not show up using the "Site:" string.

Those same sites are now a PR2 or higher. lol

i also think it is a common condition, when you doing some changes on your sites, especially big changes, Google will make your ranking has a unstable period.
it is very common, but in my opinion, if there isn't a very necessary on site changing, do not make big one on them. it is hard to say, what google will consider of the changing.
