Why only Google for SEO?

Many search engines are available in on the web but most of the webmasters are using Google. I want to know that why webmasters are emphasizing on Google for doing SEO and why not other search engines? And, how they do SEO effectively only in Google and get the result?

The main reason being Google commands over 90% of search visitors, just view your logs to find out. It is not worthwhile to focus on any other search engines, IMO.

I agree with you Google command a more visitors just concentrate on this search engine.

That also means that the other search engines get less competition, so it is easier to rank!

I think it's because Google gets more searches than all the other search engines. Yahoo and MSN get a very small percentage and most of it is from Google anyway.

Google is the world are using the major search engines, I know that China still Baidu, Yahoo, etc., there are many search engines, but you do not understand it!

Almost 60-70% of searches are done on Google. Then another 23-27% are done on Bing and Yahoo. And rest 10 odd percent on other search engines. So just think which search engine you want to target. Google, right.

The reason that you might ignore SEO for Bing is that they tend to reverse engineer the Google results. It also seems to me that Bing is much weaker in terms of spam filters. So, they rely more on authority sites than Google

Google alone cover about 70 % of user globe and other 30 % distribute on all search engine . Mostly many search engine show results from Google search so we only optimize sites for google

I think you meant to say about 87% but yea, 90 is still pretty much it too

I think google has been the number one famous search engine for visitors to get the exact answers.because google has the most powerful tool than the other search enginers.But there are a lot of people use the regional and religious search engines because of their long time habits.

We do any work to get benefit from it.Now we know Google is the main SE which provides 80-90% traffic.Then why we should try to keep focus on any SE.If we ll feel any other SE can provide same traffic or results then we can target any other SE too.

Bcouse it is The most Traffic Search Engine. Most of the people use Google to Search there daughts so thats why i think google is the most important search engine and thats for all the webmasters are useing Google.

Outside of market share, which has been already talked about on this thread I think its worthwhile to mention that what works on Google, works with Yahoo/Bing and others even if it sometimes takes longer.

The Main Reason To Work Only for Google is that-->> Google Crawler is very Fast and It is Update Very Quick.

Other Search engine have Slow Crawler..and they Update very Slowly.
This is The Reason People Generally Work For Google.

Google is the most popular search engine people are using. Google has around 80% of the search market. If you rank well in Google you will rank well in Yahoo and Bing if you have a properly optimized website in my opinion.

Google dominates the market for searches. They hold between 85% to 90% of the market.

As for other search engines... if you are optimizing for Google you often see great results in the other search engines anyway.

Typically for sites I get rankings for on page one of Google I also end up with page one on both Yahoo and Bing.

the other engines have such a small market share that the volume is not as big as google...this is why google is the main focus...the other engines like yahoo and bing focus more on the onsite factors..

Google is the king as such other search engines copy Google so if your do seo for Google, it automatically works for others.
