I posted a thread a little while ago that described how a roughly thrown together free wordpress domain designed as a backlink to one of my money sites, was outranking said money site.. Well its been about 3 weeks now and the free wordpress domain is ranking 2 or 3 for the keyword, whilst my money site is in pos 10 - 12.. This makes no sense.. Except perhaps for the fact that the content is fresh.. (spun content and ..well its 3 weeks old).. With this is mind I have created some fresh original content for the money site, with no affect and no movement up the SERP's.. I thought maybe the free wordpress domain would drop shortly after it appeared on page 1.. instead it just keeps on going higher.. At this rate next week it will be in pos 1.. Upside of this is that there has been quite a dramatic increase in traffic to the money site, and a few more clicks.. Hard to figure.. |

This is odd. The goal is more sales, right? Well, visits and clicks lead to sales so just keep it up. I would re-evaluate it after a month or so.

| Yes revenue from the site has increased a little, so no complaints. Just hard to figure why a quick one page free blogsite with just average content continues to outrank my money site that has many back links and many hours of content creation..

Hi, Your free domain will benefit from better PR that will be granted to the whole domain, so that could be why it is higher. Plus your wordpress could just have the right content that Google wants to see, therefore Google will see it as more relevant. So even though the original has more original content and links, the actual amount of pr juice is less. Best wishes, Ruth |
