What is SEO really and what is the best way to do SEO yourself?

What is SEO really and what is the best way to do SEO yourself?

I am always trying to educate myself about the best SEO practices simply because I don't have enough money to pay somebody else to do it.

Of all the SEO techniques I can build back links, my on page SEO is so so.. This is partly because I don't know what works anymore.. Include your keyword in your title once, or twice...? Be sure that your keyword is in the first paragraph a certain amount of times.. , etc. What about Keyword Research and what about Tabs and Tags..

I have a couple of WSO's on this matter but I thought it would be really interesting to hear what the Warriors have to say about it.

How much of this is true and how much is BS, does Google maybe only care for quality content?

Please Share what you think SEO is and what is the best way to do SEO yourself.

Here given answer is right.you need relevant meta tags,keywords and title for your site.White hat SEO is useful for get ranking,traffic and business.Do proper and quality work yourself.

There's a lot more to on-page than just H1, Meta description, and keywords.

Internal linking plays a big role, image names and alt text, keyword density, and a bunch of other stuff. There's a ton of threads here about it. It's so important and so often over looked. Good onpage makes your off page work a lot easier.

I think too many people focus on the technicalities of SEO, like do this, pull that, ping that, do this twice, etc.........that's not SEO, there's no magic tricks, it all boils down to authority.

The internet is a big voting machine, with each link a vote for someone else, the only catch is some votes cast a lot more weight than others, these votes are hard to find.

Think of a healthy ranking as a healthy person, your diet (on-page SEO) needs a lot of fresh, 100% unique, quality content for google to eat up, then your exercise (off-page SEO), needs strong, quality, authority backlinks to keep moving.

All of this takes planning, persistence, patience, time, effort and money. Hence why few achieve the #1 rankings we all desire.

To be effective at SEO yourself you need to learn how to outsource, once I exploited the power of outsourcing I saw my enterprise grow dramatically, there is only so much one man can do.

You need to take advantage of what's known in the economic world as "labor arbitrage" where western countries get products/service developed/maintained in eastern countries, buy eastern / sell western, it's a business model that's been around for 100s of years and even smart warriors on here are exploiting themselves.

My answer: Outsource your SEO and focus on selling your product/service

I have found Linkwheels to be a very effective method of Seo but, you need to utilize all methods or else you will honestlly be leaving money on the table.

The first thing you should consider is your content. Google takes into consideration the unique content and content that is really useful and valuable for people.
Title tags, meta descriptions and meta keywords (they are just for the search engine crawls to give them the additional information about your site), are very essential es well. and you shouldn't forget the alt tags for your images. bots don't see and crawl the images and it's better to tag images with alt tags.

With the rise of video, social media, and mobile marketing, there are any number of ways to accomplish the goal of getting steady traffic to a site.

However if you know the processes in SEO that On-page, Off-page and Viral Marketing then the only thing you need to do is being regular. Among the processes of SEO Forum and Blog (commenting and posting) is something that according to me should never be given a long pause as by doing this not only you will get traffic but you will also get to learn more and more about SEO and internet marketing.

As far as you asked about correct Meta Tag optimization then remember one thing that it is one of the most important part of SEO as its the Meta Tag through Google or other search engines comes to know and understand each page of your site.

1. Write the keywords first for the webpage you are going to write meta tag of
2. Write the Title (Make sure to include the one main keyword in it and title must be about that page)
3. Write the Description. In the description you need to brief about the page and make sure to include the main keyword along with few other keywords that you have used in keywords.

Thanks for the quality info, I would just like to add that I think we should always aim for high page rank pages if at all possible. I am not sure how much of a role it plays but I am pretty sure that if High Page rank pages link back to you it is more important than lower ranking pages.

Does anybody know if back links from low page rank pages count against your websites Ranking/Page Rank?

One person can only do so much, if we want to grow our online business we will have to outsource at one point or the other. I recommend oDesk and Freelancer for this.
