Lightbulb Anyone Interested In A Long Term SEO Test?

Here's what I'm thinking...

I've got the .com, .net, and .org of an EMD and I want to do some testing. I can go about it one of two ways. Either I can do it all, keep the results to myself, and head straight to the bank... OR...

I can make it and open book, share everything, and we can all learn. I'm willing to sacrifice the domains and try a bunch of controlled testing if there's interest. Nothing is off limits as I won't be putting adsesne on these, so I don't necessarily care what we try.

I've got a few different keywords that I have the .com, .net, and .org for.

The one I'm thinking of using in the test has the following stats...
Exact US Monthly searches - 2900
CPC - $1.07
Looks pretty easy to rank for.

The purpose of the test will be 2 fold.
1. Test multiple onpage strategies (I will keep the domains secret while this portion of the testing is going on so people don't start randomly building links to the domains).

2. Test multiple off page strategies (I will make public during this portion)

The reason I bought the all 3 major TLDs is that I want to remove as many variables as possible. It's difficult to do controlled tests with SEO (for me it is anyway) but maybe if we put our heads together we can figure out a way to do it right and contribute to the forum a little.

What I need from you...
What do you want to see tested?
Ideas about how to control the testing.
Best way to share (in a thread, a blog, etc?)
Are you more interested in on-page vs. off-page testing

Help that will be needed...
If you're a service provider and want to offer either content or links, I'm looking for sponsors. In exchange for your services, you will be an official provider in the yet to be named Kick-ass WF SEO Test (it's going to be a big deal, too).

To get the discussion started, I'm interested in knowing the following...

Best on-page optimization strategy
Most cost effective link building strategy

If there's enough interest and I can get some help from content providers I'll get this up and running asap.

You can try a case study about link pyramids. But for this case study to be exact, every other factors have to be equivalent.

One tier VS two tiers.

I would say choose 3 different strategies, and then keep the rest controlled and baseline. i.e. Similar backlinks, similar ad campaigns etc. Just have different on page SEO. Or whatever you are trying to prove.

In terms of sanitisation I wouldn't give up the information to the sites unless in a private forum or the like, as someone could come along and try and artificially interfere with the results.

Here's my plan. To study on-page I'll do that part of the test first. Then I'll standardize the on-page on all 3 sites, so the off-page test can start.

That sounds good.

I'm interested in content length, personally.
