Default Best places for optimizing your own name

What are best places for optimizing your own name, to have control over 1-2 SERP's when somebody searches your name on Googlee. It seems to me that best/easiest ways are profile pages like Facebook/Google+/Twitter.

Any good articles/blog post are also welcome.

I've heard that if you create a domain name with your exact name, that helps a lot. But maybe it's more difficult if many others share your same name?

Yes, exact domain name is good one but it's only one SERP result, I need 20 of them to control all the results.

Hi,
Here are some places where I think we should brand our own name:

Social media (some where already mentioned above):Social sharing:Publishing platforms - Get free accounts and hook them up to auto-publish your Twitter and/or Facebook posts:Other profiles:Also remember anywhere you sign up for an account is an opportunity to get your branded username.
What’s more, remember that when you comment on blogs you won’t get link value but depending on how well the post itself and blog rank, your comments could show up in a search for your name in Google!

Finally I just want to say that we should also pay attention to the following when branding our name:
  • Forum posts and profiles in your industry
  • Bio page everywhere you work
  • Optimized headshots for Image search
  • Mentions and (hopefully) links from speaking engagements
  • Testimonials for your work on your website and/or blog
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Cmaria

Want to get famous quickly? use UAW. if you search each of my author names that I am using, you'll get 54 results using "exact search". If you want manual submission, below are some good place to start:

-ezinearticles
-articlesbase
-goarticles
-uberarticles
-associated content
-article city
-articles factory
-buzzle
-ezinemark

GOOD, BETTER and BEST;. Never let it rest,. until your GOOD is BETTER, and your BETTER is BEST!....

That's a great list, thanks for putting in the time.

It's tough for me, being called Chris Green, as my name is soooooo common.

To optimize their names, what kind of interests? Does not have many visitors.
