Have anyone of you here started implementing "rel=author" in their website and if so have you seen any improvements ? I am thinking of using it and just wanted to know if there is anything I should take care of before implementing..For people who donot know what I am talking about check this video by Matt Cutts below |

Well it is quite important to implement as it helps a lot in building a brand but the use of rel = author is very complex in wordpress. I have tried several times but didn't get successful for a single time

I have made authorship markup in my blogger blog. I am waiting for google's review for updation. But i was really confused with the microformats and warning which is shown for me as "Missing required field "updated". It will be good if they provide some detailed explanation of all these things

I see it as a potential problem...If Google starts using rel=author as a ranking signal, competitive black hats might start writing spam articles and dummy author profiles, and slapping them with bogus rel=me and rel=author tags to make you look bad. So for now, Google is only counting rel=author on the same domain, where it's likely to be legitimate (your content pointing to your profile). But...with Google..who knows ![]() We should just keep our eyes and ears open for news on this, as it may become important down the road. |

Yeh it's driving me crazy, I've spent hours watching/reading tutorials, many which are very different. Right now I'm getting: hfeed hentry Warning: At least one field must be set for HatomEntry. Warning: Missing required field "entry-title". Warning: Missing required field "updated". Warning: Missing required hCard "author". A fellow warrior was helping me out and he said that my author page was no-index, no-follow and it had something to do with the all-in-one-seo plugin, but I can't figure out how to change it. If anyone is an expert on this, and can guide me through it, I would appreciate it. I've pretty much read every tutorial on the first 2 pages on it, and none have really addressed my issues. Thanks Ryan |
