How long till I see results?

Can someone please tell me when will I see a differencein my rankings from the SEO work I've been doing? I've read about 3 to 9 months.

Hi there,

It depends on the competition you're up against and the time it takes for Google to actually index and value your links.

This is heavily dependable, so there's no telling for sure, however, your rankings will show quicker when the competition is lower.

You have to get these links indexed to have their value really show up.

Don't get frustrated, and continue to build links on a consistent basis regardless.

It can take some time. You'll usually see the initial effects almost immediately (a few days to a couple weeks), but it can take several months for your site to settle in after you stop doing dedicated SEO.

There are so many factors that are taken into account by search engines when they rank other websites including:

On page optimization – in particular the TITLE tag and the keywords throughout the body of the page
How many backlinks are pointing to the site
The quality of the backlinks pointing to the site
The keywords contained within the anchor text of your backlinks
The age of your domain
These are just a few of the factors, but it gives you an idea of why this question is not so easy to answer.
So just give it some time, and meanwhile continue doing good SEO and soon you will see the result of your hardwork.

There is no specific answer to your question because it depends on the level of competition. The higher the competition is, the longer the time it will take for efforts to take effects.

It will also depend on the quality of the work that you have done.

Generally new sites sit in a sandbox type of effect for the first 1-3months, then after then you will find that you can move up the ranks a lot more easy with a few quality high pr backlinks.

Hang in there, sdesign1. Patience is necessary in this game.

My experience has been that good content that is properly optimized, along with a good linking plan WILL yield results in time. It is true though, that the amount of time will depend upon what keywords you are trying to rank for, and the overall competition.

Depending on the competition of your chosen keyword plus your link building strategy - there is no exact time on when will you see good results. But, in most cases, even for beginning websites, you will be able to see results just within a month or two.

SEO is a slow task and you cannot expect to see results over night. These thing take time and you have to show some patience. If you have done everything correctly and have a high number of backlinks coming from sites that are regularly crawled then the crawlers will crawl your link as well. The crawler will then crawl your site and then the changes you have made will be visible to all in the search results.
