You need to set the goals which means to your business.. If filling up inquiry form from the user is conversion, then you need to set this in adword account.

It is just some code tht you add to the areas that signal a conversion has happened. you can go further and add e-commerce tracking if your site is that way inclined.

I just started giving adwords a try. Any helpful guides to get better success rates? Spent $30 today for a small amount of clicks and no sales |

You need to split test ads and keep tweaking. Use Adwords for your list building and follow up with emails. Trying to sell items (does depend on niche) right off the bat doesn't always work. You need to build a rapport with customers. You can lose money at first, but as your list grows and you follow up, you should see results, again, depending on your niche. |
