Default Google Adwords warning - possible suspsension. Help!

Hello Warriors,

Well, I got the dreaded Google Adwords email. My ads aren't running due to Adwords site policy for "misleading and inaccurate claims". I got a second email saying that further violation will lead to the suspension of my account and any related accounts. (Does that mean my Gmail account???)

Aargh! I'm not a scammer! I was directing traffic to one of my sites in the health/fitness niche. I guess Adwords is cracking down on these sites?? Has this happened to anybody else?

I want to submit my site for a re-review, but what is the best approach? I will change the language of the sales letter, but would I have better luck getting reapproved if I send people to a blog instead? What about a squeeze page?

Anybody else have success getting their site re-approved for Adwords?

BTW, I have a secondary problem. The ads that were suspended were on an old Adwords account that I recently started using again. I opend this account in 2004 and stopped using it in 2007. I couldn't find my old account info and opened a new account in 2010. I started using the old account again after Google emailed me a promo code and I was able to access my username/password. (I had forgotten the email address associated with my old account, but it was set up to forward mail to my current Gmail account.) BIG OOPS. I didn't realize that having multiple accounts was a violation of Adwords policy. Should I shut down the new account and focus on getting this old account in good standing? I'm afraid to do anything that could put me on Google's radar and get both accounts shut down.

Help! I want to do right, but they make it so hard sometimes with their unforgiving policies.

Thanks!

I have had trouble with Adwords too. For whatever reason they don't like affiliate links. I stopped using them completely.

Actually, this is for my own site. I'm not using Adwords for affiliate offers. I don't use Adwords much these days, but I want to keep it as an option.

What kind of product are ypu promotng trough
your site? If they are clickbank products, do not do, stop right now.
Its very difficult to know what exactly Google wants, and yes they can bann others related accounts like, google analitycs, adsense, blogger, but i do not think gmail. , but you can go on google groups and post your problem very detailed or send a email to the support team of adwords.

What do you mean about stopping now if it's a Clickbank product? I am selling the product through Clickbank, but also 1SC. (The page my ads were pointing to had 1SC payment links.) Does Adwords disapprove of products sold through Clickbank?

Is the support team pretty helpful? I'm willing to make whatever changes I have to do get the site approved.

Well, like they say... Everything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law...

If Google is accusing you of have misleading or inaccurate claims, it is your responsibility to show the proof that your claims ARE accurate. Are you promoting affiliate products or your own? Google is cracking down on advertisers as a whole and they don't like seeing affiliate products and they are especially strict on business ops and lose weight related niches.

AdWords is defined as a "Means to Advertise Your Business"... Being an affiliate, in the yes of Google AdWords is not YOUR business. If Google accuses you of misleading or inaccurate claims, you have to be able to prove it. Anyone can say they lost 50 LBS in one month using the advertised system or e-book but if you can't back it up.

You are also in a highly competitive niche... The large companies hire people to monitor the competition. If they see ads that woul have an effect to their wallet, they'll report you to AdWords and who do you think Googlewill liten to? The one who spends (hypothetically) $100 a day or the ones spending $10,000 a day?

My Suggestion: Call Google AdWords... There's a phone number on the AdWords Login page... Or there used to be... Ask for disclosure and some tips on how you can avoid getting banned/suspended.

Other things to consider...

AdWords advertisers have to look at their quality score. Your Impressions to Clicks ratio, how much time a visitor spends on your page, your bounce rate, the amount of revelant information... I've heard some account have been suspended just because of a poor clickthrough rate. Google considers a "normal" CTR to be between 1%-10%. AdSense is a full time job, you should always get rid of ads that are below 1% CTR... I always do and never had any warnings...

Hope this helps
