Have a popular site that ranks #1 for a great phrase and earning good money. The site is gone.. no Google cache or anything. I have owned this site for many years and I do not buy links to it. It gets links naturally due to some advertising and popularity. Only recent change to the site was a tweak to the inside page structure. This change reduced the number of pages and made existing pages longer. It would be easy to change the site back to the previous structure but I don't think that that alone would get me re-listed. I would very much appreciate some advice on this matter. |

Did you make any massive change to your existing link structure ? Did you check google webmasters and saw how many pages are indexed and if there are any technical errors ??

Yes I changed the link structure. The site is a web directory, not a WP blog. It would take me a minute to change it back but I don't think that that would be enough to get back into Google.

| If you didn't employ redirects when you changed the link structure then that's your problem...either use 301 redirects now or change back to the original link structure.

Are you talking about the sites in your sig? They are indexed. You have possibly just lost your pr according to your last changes in urls and internal structures. |

Link structure changed back. My next step will be to install Google Webmaster's Tool. I hate installing this due to one bad experience but I don't think I have much choice in this particular situation. |

I don't think that they will care at all. Still have to do what I can to improve the situation.
