Is it still worth using automated spun content for blogs?

What are peoples thoughts on using automated systems that spin content and create new wordpress posts on a daily basis, for adsense sites?

I use this and it does make the content unique, but not 100% unique. When you have several sites running it allows you to leave the blog posting alone and concentrate on just building links.

I generate adsense sites by first creating a static homepage that is targeting the main keywords and is written personally, then the inner pages are all automated spun articles, with pictures and videos.

I just wondered if people find writing your own articles, but on a less often basis would work better? Is it worth that extra work.
