Default Little Question about Keyword Research

I just wanna confirm and make sure about this and I know this topic maybe have been said lot of times in this forum..

So, if we search the amount of LMS for EXACT type match in goggle keyword tools,
do we analyze for competitor, say the keyword is 'cheap LED TV',
by typing only |cheap LED TV| or |"cheap LED TV"| (with quotation marks) or we look for both in the search box?

many thanks for your answers

You can always put a little check mark in the box labeled "exact" search.

You just type in

cheap LED TV

and make sure you have "Exact" checked under match types.

Ah, I see what you mean.

Do a broad match search (without quotes) as this is what the majority of people searching for your keyword will do.

Broad search(with out quotes) will give the exact results if you need to see the competition ratio.

It’s helpful to put your keyword in «QUOTATION MARKS» as it keeps all the words in your keyword together making sure they’re searched for together rather that getting results for each word separately.

For traffic estimation, I use the phrase match version of the keyword and for competition analysis I always use the broad match version of the keyword (that's also the way people search on Google - they don't type a keyword in quotes or brackets).
