Was there another major google optimization recently?

I ask because my site had a huge drop in traffic starting September 2nd. I was starting to get about 9k/day, but now it's down to less than 2k/day. Anybody else had a recent drop in traffic?

I have heard that many people face this traffic drop. May be google has made some updation and now it it tough to get traffic as competition increase. But let us continue our work with providing best quality information and make the visitor in centre.
