Default Experience with buying adsense/keyword website sellers

Hey guys,

I just wanted to review my experience with buying keywords and sites from adsense sellers on the warrior forum so that people can prevent wasting time and money. I am not an expert adsense guy, I have only been doing it since March this year and had a really bad experience buying adsense sites off the warrior forum.

In the beginning I thought I could gain from peoples experience being a beginner and save alot of time by buying ready made adsense sites where you buy a set of researched keywords and they set up your domains. Here’s some things I learned. When they give you their keywords make sure you check them with Market samurai and some other keyword tools. Check exact matches/CPC/PBR/competition.

Check the word order

The keywords they give you should still be through Market samurai to check the broad-match to exact ratio. To check the order of the words. Alot of the time the people you buy from on here English is not there first language so you have to check that.

Product and branded domains

In the beginning the adsense sites that were offered were named product sites, i.e, brand names. I bought the brandname.net site and realised that I would never rank number 1 as the brandname.com had far too many backlinks. Anyways that site got to number 2-3 and it make $1-2 per month even though it has a high CPC ($2.0) and lots of searches per month (1400 exact match).

In general, I go for keywords which cover a specific thing rather than a product as they will not go out of fashion over time. Such as a specific make of printer with the model number. That’s just my way of doing things. I know some people make money doing that.

Competition

A lot of these adsense sellers just don’t know how to tell if a keyword is going to competitive. I have bought 3 sites from the warrior forum where the guys have said it would be easy to rank for and required extensive SEO. Use Market samurai/seo spyglass or another relevant tool to check the keywords out before you choose those keywords. A classic that they do it to have a really strong site at number 1 and rank you 2-3 on the first page. This is ok you can make money if the term has a lot of searches, but its up to you whether you take this risk. Can be more of a risk when the search volume is low.

Exact match domains

I have had a few adsense sellers, buy domains for me that were not the exact domain. So make sure you check this before committing.

Some of these sites get to the first page in no time at all without any back links and some take a lot to push them to page 1 (blog posts/articles/social bookmarks/directory sub).

I started in March and have in total:

(13 adsense sites from outsourcers) making about $4 per month. In various niches (insurance/pregnancy/kitchens/nutrients/sports supplements/)

This is abit unbalanced as these sites were bought in really competitive niches and I should have known better. Also some have had no back linking done to them.

(5 adsense sites from my own keyword research) making ~$65 per month. With some back linking and not all of those sites are even at the number 1 spot yet! They are first page at positions 5-8

So the conculsions are that you can make some money with adsense and to be honest its best to do your own research and learn how to do it. And then either set them up yourself or if you can find someone you can trust to a set them up for you.

If you are a beginner and need any help, just send me a pm.
