I have a site that has been up for almost a year and daily traffic is in the 2000 absolute unique user range according to google and my own logs. It is a utility site to helps players play certain mobile games better. I was late to getting mine started compared to the competition and didn't want to negatively impact my users experience so I kept ads off to the side. Although I now have nearly 5000 registered users and much more functionality my click through rate has always been in the toilet compared to what I've seen posted around. Let's just say it's never been above 0.25%. I also use a lot of Jquery that limits the number of full page refreshes, so the user doesn't see ads being refreshed all the time. Can you look at my site, especially one of the calculator pages, like this one: iMobsters Calculator and let me know what you would do to improve the CTR without impacting the user experience too much? Thanks in advance... |

I would add a 728x90 text only skyscraper at the very top and in the middle of the content, then some ad-links at the very bottom. Cheers |

I do not think that would be too intrusive, but if you're concerned about it then you'll have to find another way to monetize.

I guess I am still trying to find a balance. To go one step further with ads, possibly a horizontal one. How effect do you think putting one at the very top would be? Would you go with text or graphics? Thanks. |

My screen resolution is 1024 x 768. I can't even see your ad on the right without scrolling to the side. There is no reason for me to scroll since the content is on the left. People need to trip over your ads.

Then change it to text + image and see if there's any difference. Adsense is all about testing, testing and more testing
